The chip works but has a few scratches on the glass. Good cheap chip and arrived quite quickly. Happy with the product
I have owned Acer P1173 for nine years and about 2 months ago started getting dead pixels. At $34, I figured if it didn’t work I wasn’t losing much. Long story short I DIY replaced my dmd chip with this one and it works great! I saved myself $400 for a new projector AND reduced my e-waste. I’m keeping the old DMD chip as my trophy/bragging rights.
Shipping took some weeks, as you might expect, coming from China to Europe, but prize is very fair and after installation it works perfectly. Would buy again! It fixed the issue where the pixels "are dying" by turning either black or white.
BUT BEWARE if you are not a professional: there came no product description or anything with the pakage so It took me a while to realize that the small soft purple pad that's included is actually a "Thermal Pad" and supposed to be applied on the backside of the chip! I have never seen it before and had to google it. I almost threw it out with the trash and might not have had good heat transfer from the chip to the heat sink. That could have been problematic!
Also the tracking function did not work for the first couple days, but the customer support assured me everything was alright. And it was. :)
Chip I ordered arrived well packaged and on time . Couldn't ask for more.
WOW! way brighter than i anticipated, especially for its size.
almost small enough to swallow.
bright enough to momentarily stun, even the side light.
be careful to turn it away from you when you turn it on.
and a UV light.
i'm probably getting another one and one for my brother.
